When I grow up...

When I was little I always thought I wanted to be an attorney when I grew up.  This is funny to me since that is now the career that Matt is pursuing and I've realized that I really just want to be a Mom.  I am, however, pretty good at the LSAT, for some strange reason, and Matt jokes that he should send me to Law School and he can be a stay-at-home Dad.  No thanks.  :)  I do think that it would be a fun and interesting career, but I'd rather be home with the little ones where I feel I can make the biggest impact on the world.  Then when he comes home I can hear all about the legal side of the world from him.

As I got a little older I decided I wanted to be a performance pianist.  And then I realized that while I LOVE playing the piano, I wouldn't want it to become a 'chore'.  Then it changed to nursing.  And while I think nursing is interesting, I don't think I could be a very effective nurse if I passed out every time I gave someone a shot or inserted an IV... :)  I do think I would love to be a behavioral therapist... but that is a LOT of schooling that I'm not sure I want to pursue at this point in my life.  When Matt graduates, and we have the money to buy the equipment, I would love to experiment with photography, and my love for video editing a bit more.  But most of all, when I "grow up" I want to be a Mom. :)

A Mom does seem like the best job, doesn't it? :)

I really enjoyed reading this. Motherhood doesn't seemed to be valued where I live. It's much "cooler" to go to work. I think it's awesome that you realize that you'll have the biggest impact on the world being a mother in the home. It's the hardest job in the world, but the most rewarding. Way to stand up for mothers!

You go, girl! I got my degree in Psychology and now I'm a photographer. :) Come to me when your ready to get into the business. I have A LOT that I have learned that I wish I would have known from the beginning! And you can make pretty good money, even get Matt through Law School. I have a friend who's husband is in medical school, she started a year ago, had an amazing business background, and is now making about $1000 per client. And only accepts 4 clients a month. Um, yeah. I can do that!

I want to be a mommy too :) When I was little, we went around the classroom once and everyone said what they wanted to be when they grew up. Everyone said things like firefighters and doctors and basketball stars and singers, but I was just like "I wanna be a mom." My teacher called my mom and said she cried when she heard that because she thought I must have the best mom if she inspired me to want to be a mom, too. I bet your mom is great too :)
