Danish Shortbread

Danish Shortbread
2 C. butter softened
1 C. sugar
Pinch of salt
4 C flour
1 egg beaten well
Chopped almonds

Preheat oven to 375. Cream butter, sugar and salt until light and fluffy (7-10 min).Gradually add flour1/2 c at a time. mixing well after each addition. Roll out to 1/2 in thick and cut into 1" strips. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 12-14 min.


You may want to add 1 more cup of flour that what the recipe calls for... ours spread in the oven.
