Vikings?

On Friday night Matt and I experienced exquisite dining at it's best.  Maybe you have heard of the Viking Yurt in Park City, Utah??  Well, let me just say that this was our second year and it never get's old.

The evening starts as guests are transported up the side of the mountain in a snow cat-pulled sleigh like this one.

Here is a picture of Matt and I on the sleigh.

The view is incredible.  Snow and snow covered trees in every direction.  The starlit sky and view of the city lights only add to the ambiance.

The sleigh stops at a cozy little hut that looks like this.

You are taken inside where you are greeted by live piano music and Glogg.  Glogg is a hot, berry based drink spiced with cardamon, nutmeg and cinnamon.

You are then served a creamy potato five onion soup with artisan bread.  Sinfully delicious.

The delicious soup is followed by a salad consisting of local organic greens, shaved beets, pumpkin seeds, maple tahini dressing.  Is your mouth watering yet?  Because mine sure is.

For the main entree you are served grilled kobe steak, lemon scallion mashed potatoes, with sweet onion jam.

Guests are then served a sorbet palate cleanser served in rocks from Norway.

The sorbet palate cleanser is followed by the cheese course; a selection of cheese and fruit served on an aspen slab.

For dessert guests enjoy blueberry sourdough bread pudding, cardamon creme anglaise, berry coulis.  I'd never had bread pudding before - I'm the newest fan.

I unfortunately don't have any other pictures from the night, but if you ever have the opportunity to go we highly recommend it.

That looks like it was so fun! I'll have to do that with Bryan the next time we're in Utah in the winter!
