I think I forgot how much I love to read!! It's been months since I picked up a good book and let it pull me in. Within the first couple of pages this book had me in its grasp. I was turning off the TV to pick up my book. When I wasn't reading I was thinking about it. I finished it in 5 days and the second book is on its way!! The only drawback was the violence, yuck. But, as long as I just skimmed or skipped those parts I was able to read it without passing out (unlike Breaking Dawn where I literally had my head between my knees during the half-baby, half-vampire birthing scene). I'm usually the last person to read these popular series like Twilight, and Harry Potter, but if you haven't read the Hunger Games, I highly recommend it.

If you don't like violence then you might not want to read the rest of them. They just get more and more violent and gory. I don't think I'm even going to be able to see the movie because the violence bothers me. I didn't like the other two Hunger Games books, but lots of people do...you'll have to let me know what you think if you finish reading them.
yea, they're good, but I hated the last book, just FYI
Wow, looks like I am totally not alone in my dislike of the last book. I'm so glad you read this- I think the movie will be awesome. Miss you!
I loved those books. I will agree on the gory part, though. I can't believe that they are young adult books! I love getting sucked into a good book.
Jon and I are slightly obsessed. And I want to be Katniss. We are seeing it in the IMAX this Friday!!
I actually liked the last book, but apparently it's one that a lot of people completely hated. I think of one of Collins' biggest strengths is making such three dimensional characters - everyone has some good and some bad.
Can't wait for the movie!
