Tuesday Tip: Nailpolish Drying Trick

This is probably one my favorite and most used tips.  I can't even remember now where I heard it, but once I tried it I never went back.

Is it just me or does it seem like it takes FOREVER for nail polish to dry?  Especially on my hands.  I always end up getting impatient and trying to put socks on or something.  Nail polish ruined.  Then I'm usually too lazy/frustrated to take it off and do it again.  I never painted my nails because it just seemed like too much of a hassle to not be able to touch anything for a few hours. ;)  Until now.
The secret??  PAM!  That's right.  That spray on oil in the can.  Generic brand works too.  Just paint those nails, give them a minute to dry between coats, and then spray your nails with PAM.  I find it's best to hold the can about 6 inches from your nails.  If you hold it too close it can create tiny bubbles in the nail polish.  After you spray them you can wash your hands with luke-warm water and soap.  After this they are pretty set, but I wouldn't take a towel and put pressure on them or anything.  Pat your hands dry with the towel and you're done!

After this they are solid to the touch, but can still be nicked easily for 5 minutes or so.  Much better than the 30-45 minutes I've usually had to wait!  This tip is priceless and has allowed me to paint my nails much more than I would have in the past.

If you have a Tuesday Tip you want to share just shoot me an email (stephaniecpurcell@gmail.com) and I'll have you write a guest post.
