Christmas 2010

Christmas was crazy busy this year, but it was also really fun.  We spent the night at Matt's parents house on Christmas Eve Eve.  We spent Christmas Eve with them until about 7:00.

Matt and I doing a globe puzzle... I'm obsessed with puzzles, they are so fun.

Some of the family right before Christmas Eve dinner.

We had lasagna, salad, and garlic bread for dinner.

The pretty table.

Every year we play Pass the Pigs and as each person wins they get to give their secret elf gift.

Grandma and Matt playing Pass the Pigs.

Matt, Me, and Dad.

Steph and Mom.

Steph was the first one to win so she got to give her gift to Mom and of course it was amazing and creative...

Dad opening his gift from Matt.

Stacie had Michael and she got him this awesome picture book, which we made him read to us.  It was really cute.

Matt's family has this tradition on Christmas Eve where we write what we are going to give to the Savior that year on a piece of paper and put it in a white stocking.  Then we read what we wrote the previous year.  Then we talked about what the Savior means to us in our lives.  It was a really nice evening.

Then we went to my parents house and had appetizers with the Pinegar side.  It was fun to see everyone and eat yummy food.  Then dad read the different accounts of the Christmas story from the Bible and the Book of Mormon.  It was interesting to compare the two.

After everyone left we drove around for a few hours and looked at the Christmas lights on all the houses while listening to Christmas music.

On Christmas morning we woke up and had the traditional cinnamon rolls and breakfast casserole for breakfast.

The tree Christmas morning :)

Then the gift opening began...
(Disclaimer:  My parents always take tons of pictures and I've even taken a BUNCH out, so you can just scroll quickly if you don't want to see them all.)

I love Matt's face in this one :)

I love these boots... :)

Before this next gift, let me just say that Matt had this surprise planned for MONTHS.  And he did a good job of it as well, usually I find out before he actually surprises me.  I had no idea this time. :)  But I was pleasantly surprised...

He did good huh?!

Do you know what movie it's from?

Haha

Haha Matt's face.

Then we went to Matt's parent's house and had another Christmas morning there...

Stacie and Stephanie

Have you ever seen these things?  They are SaWeet. :)

Dad and Mom Purcell looking so nice on Christmas morning :)

Then we watched Despicable me - which Matt got for Christmas from his secret elf because he LOVES that movie.

In the afternoon we went to Grandma Palmer's house to have Christmas dinner there with some of Matt's extended family.

Then we went to my sister's house to see them and their kidlets for a bit.

After all that we finally came home and CRASHED.  We were exhausted. :)  But it was fun to be able to spend time with all our family on Christmas.  We hope that you had a very merry Christmas as well.

We also enjoyed all the time after Christmas just relaxing and spending time with family and now it's back to school (for Matt) and work (for me)... but I must admit, I kind of missed having a schedule and I know Matt was going crazy being out of school.

It looks like you guys had a lot of fun. I love the watch and bracelet you got. I like that tradition of giving a gift to the savior too. I might have to start doing that.

We have a ninja, it works ok, but it sucks at crushing ice just so you know...also, Ryan loves Despicable Me. Santa gave him that one.
