One Year Ago Today...

Matt and I got engaged :) Time has FLOWN by! That was on of the many beginnings of this journey together. I never imagined I could be this happy! No fairytale even compares. Our life isn't perfect, but everything is brighter with my best friend beside me. Life with Matt just keeps getting better and better. :) Yesterday in relief society one thing from the lesson really stuck out to me - enjoy the moment. There was a quote that went a little like this, "If you pile up too many tomorrows you will be left with a lot of empty yesterdays." I just loved that. I think so often it is tempting for us to anticipate the future, ie "I can't wait till Matt is done with school." Or "I can't wait till we have a family of our own." Or "I can't wait till we have a house of our own." ect. But we will never get this time back again! I love just being with my best friend and the love of my life. We'll never get this time back where we have a lots of time to spend together doing things we love and getting to know each other better. When ever we talk about having kids Matt says he isn't ready to share me yet :) I'm excited to be a mom but I REALLY love my job right now. I actually love it so much that I anticipate Monday mornings and sometimes I don't want to go home... except that I get to be with Matt of course ;) So I have resolved to enjoy the present. As grandpa used to always say, "Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift - that's why they call it the present." Thanks Matt for asking me to marry you a year ago today, it has been a wonderful journey and it just keeps getting better and better! :)

Happy engagement anniversary! Seriously, enjoy your newlywed time! It is such a fun time to have just the two of you. I miss it sometimes when it was just Bryan and I, so definitely enjoy the present. I'll do that, too! Your blond hair looks great!
