On Compassion

Today I was approached by a man in his late fifties. I didn't know him very well, but he had heard our story. With tears brimming in his eyes he told me of his personal struggle with infertility and how they were eventually blessed with one miracle baby girl. His voice cracked while he spoke. It was apparent that, although many years had passed, he could still remember that pain. He promised to pray for us and I could hear the compassion in his voice.

Infertility is more common than you know and many people suffer in silence. This is why we share our story. I know we are given trials to teach us humility. But, perhaps more importantly, we are given trials to teach us to have compassion for each other.
