1st Dr. Appointment and Ultrasound

Wednesday, July 9, 2014

Today we had our first ultrasound! Immediately, the nurse said, "Yep! There's a baby in there with a strong heartbeat!" We saw the little flickering heartbeat and then she turned on the sound and we heard the most incredible thing we've ever heard--our sweet baby's heartbeat at 145 bpm. We were immediately overcome with love for our sweet baby. It's incredible how we can love that little peanut so much already! God is so, so good to us. The only issue the nurse saw was some minor bleeding between the gestational sac and the uterine wall called subchorionic hemorrhage. They aren't too concerned about it, but I'm supposed to take it easy for the next few weeks. We have another ultrasound scheduled on July 25 with Dr. Foulk. It will be so great to see him one more time before "graduating" from the fertility clinic to an OB.  We found out that I'll be 8 weeks along tomorrow and I'm due February 19!  It was a fun surprise to learn that we are further along than we thought.

I've had some anxiety today about the hemorrhage. I'm trying to just trust in The Lord that everything will work out according to His will. I asked Matt for a blessing tonight and he gave me a beautiful blessing.  It really helped to calm my fears.  I know that everything will be alright with our baby.

Here I am all ready for the ultrasound. :)

Our sweet baby on the ultrasound!

Hearing that little heartbeat was the most amazing thing ever.

Not sure if you remember but I had the same bleeding with Paige. I was super nervous too but it all worked out. So glad everything is looking better for you too. Can't wait to find out the gender!
