He Has a Plan

On October 1 Matt came to my office and poked his head in.  He waved me out into the hall, so I hesitantly followed him out there.  I couldn't read his face and it looked like something might be wrong, so I got kind of nervous thinking he might have bad news.

When I got out into the hall he said, "I just got a call from Snow, Christensen and Martineau... they offered me a position as an intern next summer!!"  Insert happy tears from me and lots of hugs.  The legal market is not very good right now.  It's hard to find internships... but we received an offer from the firm at the top of our list.  It was a good reminder to me that the Lord is watching out for us and has a plan for our little family.

If things aren't working out for you right now it doesn't mean the Lord doesn't love you, it just means He's preparing you for a miracle and you won't recognize it unless it comes after a little bit of struggle.

Birthday Weekend :)

So I'm turning the big 2-0 on Monday the 23rd. So we are celebrating all weekend and into next week. Matt makes fun of me for this - but I celebrate his birthday for a week too - much to his dismay :) My mom always made a big deal of birthday's in our family. Birthday morning she would put up a big birthday banner and balloons and make breakfast. Then I would skip school - the best part and we would to to lunch and shopping. Then we would have a birthday party with 20 little girls because we couldn't leave anyone out ;) haha The birthday parties I remember best were karaoke and ice skating. Oh and I think we even had one at McDonald's - classic. Anyway I'll have to take lots of pictures this weekend - but here is the plan:

Tonight (Friday) - We are going up to Salt Lake to my parents house. We are going out for dinner and then maybe shopping. Then we will either go bowling and get ice cream or go home and play games and have cake - or a mixture of all or some of those :) We are going to be spontaneous.

Tomorrow (Saturday)- Maybe I'll talk Matt into making me breakfast.... ;) I'll probably spend most of the day relaxing - making quilts and watching Gilmore girls with my best friend. It's a good thing he likes Gilmore girls or I'd just have to pull the, "But it's my birthday card." Then tomorrow night Matt's parents are coming down to play with us :) We'll get something to eat and play game and watch movies.

Sunday - Church of course where I get to go to young womens - YES! haha Then around 6 James and Stephanie (Matt's brother and his wife) and Brandon, Brooke and Evie (Matt's cousin and his wife and baby :)) will probably come over and we will eat food and play games and watch movies and most importantly - play with Evie.

Monday - I'm only working from 8-12. Then I'm going to go get a massage and Matt told me he would take me to get doughnuts... after dinner of course. We will go some where for dinner and I'll open presents :) Then maybe we'll go see a movie or go shopping or come home and do our favorite - relax :)

Tuesday - We are going to dinner with my sweet grandma who really wanted to take me out for my birthday :)

I'm serious... this is really my birthday plans. haha. I figure why not milk it while I can right? :) Matt's really excited too though I just keep telling him that I really just use my birthday as a good excuse to party with the people I love most :)... so I'll take pictures and post a post birthday post... hehe

Thursday Date Night:

First Stop: Mulligans Miniture Golf :) Matt and I went here on one of our first dates last November - Luckily it was a little warmer this time around :) We had fun just goofing around and we were the only ones there so that was kind of fun. I think the best moment was when my ball hit Matt's out of the way and I made a hole in one! :) Matt calls it cheating - I call it skill (or luck - either one) ;)

Matt and his wicked putt ;)

This is my golf pose - I really just liked the cool bench ;)

The sun was setting and the mountains looked really cool.

After golfing we went shopping to get me some new jeans and running clothes for winter. We had luck with the jeans - but not with the running clothes unfortunately.

After shopping we came home, took some cookies to our friends, and played Jenga:

This is a distraction tactic... take pictures of your opponent so they can't concentrate...

The Jenga face

Getting taller!

And taller!

This picture was taken a few turns before it fell... I made it fall :( - it made a really loud noise on the glass table and scared me half to death! We were surprised how tall it got!
Then we took some time to watch a little TV - eat snacks and read before going to bed :) It was a fun night :)
We have a fun weekend planned - so hopefully I'll have some more to blog about on Monday. Matt woke up feeling really sick - so here's hoping he gets better in time to partay this weekend!

Our Crazy Week!

Last night we had dinner, then planned and I went running while Matt did homework. Then we cleaned a little, went over our finances, read scriptures and went to bed. Not very exciting... I know, but the rest of this week we are going to be extremely busy!

On top of homework and tests - this is what we have planned for the week:

Tonight after work I need to stop by the pharmacy. Then after dinner and maybe starting the laundry we are going to my sisters house to celebrate my nieces birthday. Then we will probably come home and finish the laundry - do some homework and planning and go to bed.

Tomorrow after work we are going to dinner and then to Matt's astronomy night for his astronomy class - it should be pretty fun. Then it's home to do homework ect.

On Thursday after dinner we are going to see World of Dance at BYU. Matt's friend - Rachel - from high school is performing in it and we are going for ice cream or something after.

On Friday we have a tailgate party for our ward. We are on the activities committee - so technically we are supposed to be there at 4:30 to set up... but who has a party with adults that starts at 5? We don't even get home from work till 5:30, so we will probably go late to that. Then it's off to my girlfriends reception. That will be fun because we have been friends since we were 4 and it's crazy to think we are all grown up. :)

On Saturday is the BYU football game - Wahoo! :) I'm pretty excited for that too :)

So we have a pretty busy week planned this week - but it should be fun and I'll try and take some good pictures :)
